The National Postal Service of the Federated States of Micronesia (NPS) was established by law in 1983 as an independent agency of the National Government of the Federated States of Micronesia, primarily to provide mail service to the FSM as well as sell stamps and other philatelic products in the FSM and throughout the world. The NPS operates four main post offices in each of the four FSM States and two substations, one each in Chuuk and Yap. The NPS plans to extend its services to the outlying areas of the FSM as soon as possible.
